Rosen Method: Accessing the Unconscious through Touch and MovementWeek of September 28 – October 3, 2008 Join Jane Malek at Legendary Esalen for a Unique Intensive In this course we will explore the ways in which Rosen Method Movement complement the unique touch of Rosen Method Bodywork. The focus will be using both as tools to deepen awareness, on physical and emotional levels. Marion Rosen’s vision of Rosen Method Bodywork and Movement has brought her recognition as an international leader and originator in the field of body oriented therapies. She worked for many years as a physical therapist, developed these exercises as a way to prevent physical difficulties before they arise. These movements have helped her clients feel better and age more gracefully. At 93 years old, she is a true testimonial to her work. They maybe adapted for those who have pain or have physical limitations. Rosen movements are remarkably easy to do and yet they provide many benefits. The classes are held in a group setting. They are done individually, holding hands in a circle and with partners. Based on traditional physical therapy, they increase range of motion, improve alignment and help to remain flexible. The true joy of moving to music supports the relaxation process to move in new ways. Places that have not been moved will be reawakened to live life more fully. She is a senior teacher of Rosen Method Bodywork and a Rosen Training teacher, as well as founder and operator of the Monterey Bay Rosen Method Center. She began studying Rosen Method with Marion in 1980 and enjoyed a close apprenticeship with her for many years. They started co-teaching workshops together in 1990.
