Introduction to Body Reading

Another innovative class , the secrets of body reading...

Body Reading is both an art and a skill. This training is designed to build your abilities, step-by-step, starting with reading the skeleton’s position through seeing the soft-tissue restraints that create that position. Once you learn to see the body in this way then you can explore strategies for working with the client’s awareness, helping to guide the healing process. Eva Rask will share her highly respected skills for reading the body in detail. Eva’s extensive experience brings together her knowledge of anatomy, massage and connective tissue work as well as the emotional dimension from her perspective as a Rosen Method practitioner.

Students will be shown how to:

• See skeleton, muscles and connective tissue as living materials that react to everything in life
• Discern what information the form of the body represses or expresses
• Observe skin and muscle tensions and how they manifest on the surface
• Identify superficial tensions and deep tensions
• Take the time to observe and focus without judgement

The theoretical explanation will be put into practice with partners. In this part of the class you will explore:

• How to slow down and observe details
• Looking with respect for the wholeness of the being
• Trusting your knowledge and senses
• Sharpening your awareness
• Developing self confidence and compassion which leads to heightened intuition with clients

The class encourages sharing and taking the time to be present. You will come away with a refreshing, new approach to working with clients. Eva’s “Emotional Anatomy” and “Body Reading” courses in Europe have been a favorite of students since 1992. She makes learning interesting and fun. Her presentations are engrossing, infused with inspiration, and humor, illuminated by her lively personality.

Eva Rask, PT, ND, CMT

Eva was practicing and teaching massage, anatomy, and soft connective tissue before beginning her Rosen Method training. She became a bodyworker in 1992. She brings to this course a long history of teaching Anatomy, Muscle Function Diagnostics, Joint Mobilization and Emotional Anatomy courses in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, and Switzerland. In addition, in 1996 Eva started teaching her own courses in bodyreading using her knowledge of massage, Naturopathy, Soft Connective Massage, Rosen Method and Psychotherapy.
